PERSONAL IDENTIFYING DATA:

Dimas Camargo, born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on the  06/01/1966.

WORKING EXPERIENCES:

Starting at the age of  fourteen years he begins working like musician, dancer and singer in an association of capoeira * Bento Grande * with the great Master Antonio Cardoso Andrade (Mestre Brasilia).

At the age of 17 years he leaves his country for a tournee all around the world, spending one year in JAPAN and then also in ISRAEL. 

Coming back to Sao Paulo he workes  with famous Brazilian artists, among them: Osvaldo Sargentele, Alcione, Toquinho, Maria Alcina, Elsa Soares, Osvaldinho da Cuica, Eliana Estevao, Tobias da Vai - Vai etc.

He performs in famous Brazilian television PROGRAMS: Xuxu, Povo na teve, Silvio Santos, Gugu, Praça from Alegria, Faustao, etc.

Later he joins the international Brazilian group * OBA - OBA * of  FRANCO FONTANA, and he travels with them for three years, working in the most importants Italian and European theatres.

In 1993 he founds the first “escola de samba” in Italy , the "Roma-Rio" Samba School.

And from 1997 to 2007, he participates with his school to various editions of the Italian carnival: Viareggio, Giardini Naxos, Acireale, Sciacca, Tarquinia, Formia, Torvaianica, Fori Imperiali a Roma, Venezia, Fiumicino, Cento, Via nazionale a Roma, Piazza Navona, Nizza, Campo dei Fiori e via Veneto a Roma, Pescara, Porto Empedocle, Taranto etc.

He takes part to various Itaian Television Transmissions and Cultural Manifestations: Giro Tonno, island of  S. Pietro (Sardegna), Centro commerciale Coin in Roma and in  Napoli, Fantastico with Pippo Baudo,  Maurizio Costanzo Show, Ciao Darwin, Buona Domenica (for n.15 series), Serata Mondiale  (for n.5 series), Gelato al Limone, to carnival report in TG 5, alle Falde del Kilimangiaro with LICIA COLO‘, report on TG2 on Strangers immigrates in Italy, Uno Mattina with MARIA TERESA RUTA  and more.

He performs with famous Artists among them: Gim Porto, Ana Flora, Alfredo Paixao, Robertinho Bispo, Gilson Silveira, Olga - Crown, Vicenzo Palermo, Stefano Rossini, Toni Esposito, Tullio de Piscopo, Eliana Estevan, Sebastiano Olioto, Francisco Buzzurro, Giuseppe Urso, Ginluca Ascolesi, Naco, Paulo of the Rose, Candelo Cabeza, Roberto Evagelista, Irio de Paula, Tones chittarista Song of Mario Venuti,Mimmo cafiero.

He organizes with the participation of some Brazilian groups (Terra Samba, Armonia do samba, Yamandu & Armandinho, Neguinho da Beija flor, Gruppo Revelacao, Gilberto Gil, Timbalada, Olodum, Pepeu Gomes e Marina Morena, Dudu Nobre) shows for Italian and European cities.

He performs also in the *Muito Obrigado* cd of Vicenzo Palermo, Brano 1° famous “Bateria 10”.

He contributes to the realization of the cd "the Night of dream" of  PINO SALLUSTI interpreting (unusual for him) JAZZ music pieces.

In COLLABORATION with the UFIP, of LUIGI TRONCI, (one of the more famous companies for the realization of plates of battery and musical instruments all over the world), and with PIERO BORRI organizes seminaries of percussions and battery inside UFIP center. 

They take to part to the sessions of the seminary prestigious artists: Walter Calloni,  Naco, Daniele Trambusti,  Candelo  Cabezas, Gianni Cerroni,  Antonio Gentile, Trilok Curtu,  Piero Borri,  Karl Potter.
